The Kromfohrlander is an open, compliant, lively dog that is also suitable as a companion dog for the active. The breed is very faithful and family-loving but can be somewhat reserved with strangers. It has virtually no hunting in it.

The family kennel breeding Kromfohrländer right in the forest between Borås and Gothenburg. We raise both smooth and rough-haired Kromfohrländer in a family environment.

We also have two lovely imported males in our family happiness. So with us, you will usually meet both mom and dad.Planned litters in the first half of 2026Next year, we plan to have both smooth and rough-haired puppies in the first half of the year.A total of 2 litters of each smooth and rough-haired planned for 2026.

This spring 2026 we are planning four litters, 2 smooth-haired and 2 wire-haired
Size and Appearance
The height at the withers should be 38–46 cm, with males weighing 11–16 kg and females 9–14 kg. The breed exists in both smooth and rough-haired varieties (the smooth-haired variant can be either short or long-haired). The color is white with light reddish-brown to very dark reddish-brown patches, which appear in different sizes as spots or as a saddle. A white blaze on the head is mandatory. The ears are drooping.
Care
No extensive coat care is required, but regular combing of the rough-haired and wiping of the smooth-haired varieties is necessary.
They should be bathed as needed. Trimming occurs but it is not a so-called trimming breed.
History
The breed was created in the area of Krom Fohr in the Siegen area, Westphalia in Germany after World War II. It originated from a random mating between a fox terrier and a French hunting dog of the griffon type. The dog type was primarily used as a companion dog and watchdog. Due to its pleasant temperament, breeding continued.Over time, the dogs became more and more homogeneous, and in 1955 they were recognized.

We run our business according to the rules of the Swedish Kennel Club, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the County Administrative Board and the Swedish Tax Agency. Be careful where you buy your dog so everything goes according to SKK's rules. Together, we have almost 50 years of experience in breeding. This guarantees that you will have peace of mind in your purchase.

We have now started cooperation with 2 kennels in the USA that breed Kromfohrlander. Two puppies from the 2023 litters have moved to the USA, great fun to follow. The interest in our dogs is great in the United States, it is not least visible in all the visits we have on the website. An island

An incredibly fun and exciting future for our breed Kromfohrländer. In addition, we now have a little Belgian smooth-haired male who plays in our home, he is very nice and will be exciting to follow in the future. In addition, we have started collaborations with kennels in Denmark, Belgium and Finland.
The breed has become incredibly popular and the population has grown from 2009 with 120 Kromfohrlanders to 2023 /(Feb) 985. In the situation we kennels with serious breeding of Kromfohrländer are in and who want to take responsibility for the development of the breed, long-term planning and cooperation is required.
